Sounds of the Snowy Egret

I love to see - and hear - the colorful sights and sounds of mating season.  The vivid mating colors are more beautiful and the sounds that the Snowy Egret makes are comical.  It sounds like a turkey gobble.  Adorable.  They are one of my favorites.

Most of these were taken at St. Augustine last year, on our photography group weekend.  Our group planned a weekend trip to St. Augustine, great group and a lot of fun.

Barred Owl & Baby

Our photography group was in St. Augustine, primarily to spend the day at the Alligator Farm.  But we took a few hours and went to a nearby park.  Here we found a Barred Owl in a tree.  And - looking really closely - we also saw the baby!

Colorful Cattle Egrets

I generally don't photograph the Cattle Egrets throughout the year, but they have beautiful colors during mating season.  Their colors are bold and vibrant.

Here are just a few flowers shots - I don't have many.  I don't do much macro photography and don't often go to the gardens.

Butterflies

Butterfly World, located in Tradewinds Park, Coconut Creek, FL.  It is worth the trip. Over 80 species of butterflies in beautiful colors.

This is my only shot of a Kingfisher.  They are very skittish and hard to shoot.  This one was taken in Everglades National Park.

A Day in the Everglades

This is one of my favorite shots of a Blue Heron.  He looks very regal sitting there like that.

I joined a photography group a few years ago, and we had an organized outing in Everglades National Park. It was the first time I'd been there, it was a lot of fun. We had a good group and got some nice shots.  A fun day.
